About GiveStash

GiveStash is a mobile app published by Browntown Apps. It helps you scan or import contribution links, label them, save them to a contact you choose, and create gift reminders.

GiveStash stores links; it does not receive, hold, invest, transfer, or otherwise handle money or financial accounts.

Information processed by the app

Depending on how you use GiveStash, the app may process a contribution URL and details you enter, such as a child’s nickname, contribution type, responsible adult or contact name, relationship, occasion, reminder date, and alert timing.

This information is used only to provide the features you request. Browntown Apps does not receive it on a server.

Recent drafts

GiveStash can keep up to 10 recent drafts in local app storage on your device so you can return to them. Drafts older than 30 days are automatically removed. You can clear all recent drafts from GiveStash’s Privacy & Settings screen, or remove all app data by uninstalling GiveStash.

Device permissions and integrations

• Camera: Used only after you choose to scan a QR code. QR recognition happens on your device. GiveStash does not record, retain, or upload camera images, and it does not request microphone access.
• Photos: Used only when you choose a screenshot or image for QR decoding. The selected image is processed on your device and is not uploaded or retained by GiveStash.
• Clipboard: Read only when you tap “Paste a link.” GiveStash writes to the clipboard only when you choose “Copy link.”
• Contacts: Used with your permission to let you select a contact, add a labeled URL to that contact, or review a new contact in the device’s native contact form. GiveStash does not upload your address book.
• Calendar: Used with your permission to prepare a reminder containing the contribution link. You review the event using the device’s native calendar interface before saving. On Android, GiveStash may read the available calendar list solely to locate a writable calendar.
• Share extension: If you share text or a web link to GiveStash from another app, GiveStash processes that shared item locally so you can review it.

You can deny or revoke device permissions in iOS or Android settings. Some features will not work without the related permission.

Collection, tracking, and advertising

• GiveStash does not require or create an account.
• GiveStash does not include advertising or third-party analytics SDKs.
• GiveStash does not collect device identifiers or track you across apps or websites.
• Browntown Apps does not sell, rent, or share personal information for advertising or marketing.

Contacts, Calendar, and third-party websites

Information you choose to save to Contacts or Calendar is stored and synchronized according to your device settings and the policies of your selected account provider, such as Apple, Google, Microsoft, or another provider. GiveStash does not control those services.

Contribution links may open a website operated by a third party. Any information or payment details you provide on that website are governed by that provider’s terms and privacy policy. GiveStash does not see or receive information you enter on a contribution website.

Children’s privacy

GiveStash is designed for adults organizing gift information and is not directed to children under 13. A contribution link may relate to a child, but we encourage using a nickname only. Do not enter account numbers, Social Security numbers, payment details, or other sensitive financial information into GiveStash.

Security and your choices

Keeping app data on the device reduces transmission risk, but no device is perfectly secure. Protect your phone or tablet with a passcode and keep its operating system current.

• Clear GiveStash’s recent drafts from Privacy & Settings.
• Delete or edit saved links directly in Contacts.
• Delete or edit reminders directly in Calendar.
• Revoke camera, photo, Contacts, or Calendar access in device settings.
• Uninstall GiveStash to remove its local app data.

Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy when GiveStash changes or legal requirements evolve. The revised policy will be posted on this page with a new “Last updated” date.
